Q1. Story behind your Brand name or Logo


Highly decorated or to make more beautiful & attractive” denotates the word Ornate. The logo clearly illustrates what we do. One does not need to look too far into the logo to notice the Letter O which is designed as a necklace and clearly reveals the business we are in.


The chosen colours were meant to symbolize the brand’s excellence in jewellery making. The base colour denotes high-status and a premium look wherein the brand name in gold sets us up for success.


Q2.  Whether this Business is started by you or Legacy of Generations


I am the founder of my company and the first generation in this business. However I wish to leave a legacy for my daughter.  


 Q3.  What inspired you to start this business/ entrepreneurship?


I was really inspired to create a style of jewellery that is gorgeous and at the same time,   well priced. From my years of experience in the industry I felt a need of a brand that can fill up this gap and is able to make luxury affordable to all.

 Also Being a business woman, it actually made it easier for me to create a life I always wanted for myself. Now I run the show to create the ideal blend of work/life balance.


 Q4. Kindly introduce about your Business, briefly products and services here.

 We draw from years of manufacturing experience to offer our clients fine jewellery at an exceptional value. In just over a decade, Ornate has carved a unique niche for itself in the Indian jewellery market.

At Ornate, we have the advantage of drawing on a rich base of manufacturing experience. And we have excelled in below mentioned verticals:

-          We create absolutely high-end diamond jewellery for Retailers across India.

-          We have carved a niche as a “Wedding Jewellery planner”, where in addition to innovative and timeless design concepts, we address the consumer need to budget expenses on jewellery.


Q5. What kind of major challenges did you face while starting/doing business?


There were two biggest challenges that I faced initially.

1)    Being in a business that involves high value transactions and is majorly based on trust, Picking the right combination team was stressful.

2)    Business Time Management was the other challenge for me. As a new establishment , I had to take up many roles and donned as many hats as I could. I wished to accomplish a lot in a limited amount of time and thus was always running from pillar to post to take care of things.


Q6.  What were the financial challenges you had during the start of Business and how did you manage

 I developed a business model in such a way that in the initial stage of business with limited funds we generated enough profits and credibility in the market and there after we never had to look back.

 Q7. Share with our readers the most inspiring moment in this journey of entrepreneurship or Business journey?


There have been many moments that continuously kept on inspiring us. However, I would like to share this most recent one that happened in July 2020, post lockdown. Everyone believed that luxury sector would be the last to revive, however because of our name and stand in the market, we were able to bag a good order from a single client who dealt with us for the first time.


The order started with couple of lakhs and we ended up doing a business worth 3.5 crores. This clearly explains the trust that we always build up over our clients even in a short span of time. 


Q8. Who is your role model or Inspiration in life personally or professional life?


My Mother-in-Law, Mrs. Geeta Kapadia is my biggest role model. From her I have learned that “planning is everything” and my 9 years old, daughter is my biggest inspiration. She gives wings to my imagination and sparks my creativity.

 Professionally Priyanka Chopra always have inspired me. As she very well said “The only thing you need to wear well is your confidence”.

Q9 What are your future plans? Or now what is your vision for the next five years?


In next 5 years, Ornate will create its niche as a known boutique for affordable luxury jewels still staying true to the nature and origin of the brand.

Q.11 What is the one inspirational or Motivational message you want to share to our esteemed readers?


There are moments in life where it gets so hectic that time becomes a blur. Keep Calm & NEVER GIVE UP!


Q12. Your accomplishments and Awards


I was recognized as a top Jewelry designer in 2002 in Delhi and have been awarded as the best diamond cutter while pursuing graduation in Diamond Manufacturing.

 Post that in my career I have accomplished many renowned positions while I was working with top public listed companies and today as an entrepreneur my company Ornate has created its own identity and image in the market which certainly is not less than any award.
